Belarusian President visits Reviews the Role of Asyad Group in Enhancing the Competitiveness of the Sultanate of Oman
His Excellency President Aleksandr Lukashenko of the Republic of Belarus, accompanied by his delegation, visited Asyad Group, represented by Sohar Port largest port within the Group in Oman and one of the fastest-growing ports in the region.
During the visit, the President was introduced to the port’s competitive advantages, investment incentives, and the integrated logistics services offered by Asyad Group to enhance trade activities and economic cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and Belarus.
Omar bin Mahmood Al Mahrazi, CEO of Asyad Ports and Freezones, gave an overview of Asyad Group’s integrated logistics ecosystem. He highlighted the Group’s services encompassing ports, freezones, shipping, dry dock facilities, and competitive logistics solutions. These also include direct container shipping lines, transshipment services, cold chain logistics, and e-commerce solutions.
President Lukashenko was also briefed on Sohar Port’s operations and the latest expansion projects underway, as well as Asyad Group’s role in promoting and enhancing the competitiveness of Oman’s ports. The presentation also emphasized Oman’s strategic location, which strengthens its position as a leading global logistics hub.
The President toured the port’s operational facilities, which serve as an advanced logistics gateway to regional and global markets. The port benefits from Asyad Group’s integrated logistics solutions, ensuring efficiency and smooth flow of global supply chains.
Additionally, President Aleksandr Lukashenko visited OQ Refinery and Petrochemical Industries Company, a subsidiary of the OQ Group, located in Sohar Port. During the visit, the President was briefed on the refinery and petrochemical plants, including OQ’s Polymer Complex, one of Oman’s largest petrochemical facilities, which produces 880,000 tons of polyethylene and 300,000 tons of polypropylene annually.
Ashraf bin Hamad Al-Mamari, CEO of OQ Group, highlighted the Group’s pivotal role in Oman’s energy sector as one of the largest companies optimizing the use of natural resources through a comprehensive value chain. He also spoke about OQ’s products that are exported to over 80 countries and serve more than 3,000 clients in regional and global markets.
Al Mamari also highlighted OQ Group’s in-country value, investments, and CSR initiatives.
